Why Attend?

The annual AMGO conference offers a variety of opportunities for learning, inspiration, and networking with other academic Department of OB/GYN administrators, Women's Health service line leaders, and other clinical, finance, research and medical education staff. 

The conference serves as a unique event for healthcare professionals who work in or with academic Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology, teaching hospitals and medical schools to gather as a community to learn and share successful strategies addressing the hot topics and emerging issues in OB/GYN. Attendees include academic and health systems administrative and clinical staff engaged in activities related to the tripartite mission of patient care, education, and research, including the administration of an OB/GYN residency program and sub-specialty fellowship programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all meetings and events going to take place at the hotel?

The Viceroy is our main hotel and will be the the site of the welcome reception and the conference. The Tuesday evening President's Reception is a riverboat cruise.  


Complimentary WiFi is provided by the hotel. 

What is the dress code at the conference?

 Business casual is the norm. Leisure attire of your choice at social events. 


 What can I expect at the social events?

 Our social events offer another great way to network and continue your learning experience. Come alone or bring a guest to any of our social  events and share your thoughts and ideas with fellow attendees. There is an additional charge for your "guest" at the Welcome Reception ($50) and the President's Dinner Cruise ($50)


 What's included in my registration?

 The AMGO registration fee provides full participation in the conference including registration and conference materials, as well as the following meals: Breakfast (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), Lunch (Monday, Tuesday), morning and afternoon refreshments, Sunday 'Welcome Reception' and Tuesday 'President's Dinner Cruise.' 


What if I have a credit from a previous conference?

You can use your credit toward paying your conference registration. When you register for the conference, choose "Invoice me" for your method of payment. An invoice will be emailed to you, which you can pay online and apply your credit at that time, or pay offline by check.


 What if I have to cancel my registration?

 Unexpected events occur. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you must cancel your registration due to an emergency or other unexpected event. Requests for refunds can be sent to Joe English, joseph.english1@duke.edu


 I'm having trouble with registration or my credit card won't process, who can I call or email?

 Credit card processing problems are generally caused by a mismatch in the billing address of the credit card holder. Check that the address entered matches the billing address listed with your credit card provider or contact your credit card provider to authorize the charge. We're here to help!  What forms of payment do you accept?

 Registration payment is by credit card and is required at the time of registration. If you must pay by check, registration will be confirmed upon receipt of payment. Checks should be mailed to: Joe English, Duke Department of OB-GYN, 242 Baker House, Durham, NC 27710 


Can I register in person at the event?

Yes! Walk-in registrations are accepted at the member/non-member rate plus an additional $100.


 Will the information presented at the conference be available afterward?

 Yes! Speaker presentations will be made available to all attendees at the conclusion of the conference. AMGO members can access the current year and all prior conference presentations on our website


Does the conference offer any professional continuing education credits?

Program participants are eligible for ACMPE Category II credit hours.  Upon completion of the program, participants should send a completed form, indicating sessions attended.  Forms will be available at the conference.


 How will AMGO ensure my health & safety while attending the conference?

 The health and safety of our attendees is paramount and AMGO and its partner, the Viceroy, are committed to following the CDC and municipal guidelines for hosting large events. For the wellbeing of their guests, colleagues and communities, the Viceroy has implemented their health and safety plan. See Viceroy's Promise of Cleanliness.


 Does AMGO have a mobile app?

 Yes! The Wild Apricot app is available for iOS and Android devices. You can register for the event, renew your membership fees and view the member directory on your mobile device.

Is there an option to attend the conference virtually?

Due to the cost and coordination, the AMGO Board of Directors decided to focus on face-to-face sessions and networking at the Chicago conference. There will be no hybrid or virtual-only options. This event will be in-person only with no plans to change to virtual.
