Dear AMGO members and colleagues, It is my pleasure to invite you to join us in Salem, Massachusetts, for the AMGO Annual Conference as we celebrate an extraordinary milestone—the 50th Anniversary of AMGO. For half a century, AMGO has served as a trusted resource for administrators in academic departments of OB/GYN, providing education, professional development, and, perhaps most importantly, a community of peers who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of our work. Reaching this anniversary is a reflection of the value our members have found in this organization over the years. I am proud to celebrate the people who have built and sustained AMGO for five decades. This year, we are especially honored to welcome former members back to the conference. Their leadership and dedication helped shape the organization we know today, and I believe there is tremendous value in learning from those who came before us. Through individual conversations and our alumni panel discussion, attendees will gain insights from leaders whose careers span decades of experience in academic medicine and healthcare administration. Our conference program offers something for everyone, with sessions ranging from practical, technical topics to leadership development and future-focused innovation. Attendees will explore updates about ACOG coding and billing and implementing a postpartum hemorrhage program. We will learn about emerging technologies and trends, like ambient listening, that are transforming healthcare. Sessions on professional development and career growth will provide guidance for navigating today’s challenges and planning for your future. Whether you are new to the field or a seasoned administrator, you will leave with valuable knowledge, fresh perspectives, and actionable ideas. I am especially excited about our keynote speaker, James Rhee author of Red Helicopter, whose work as an author, educator, and leadership expert has inspired audiences around the world. His insights on leadership, resilience, and purpose will challenge us to think differently about our work and our impact. Having the opportunity to hear from him in person—and engage with him throughout the conference—is truly a unique experience. Of course, one of the greatest benefits of attending AMGO is the opportunity to meet and build relationships with colleagues who understand the realities of working in academic OB-GYN. The connections made at this conference will surely lead to year-round sources of support, advice, and collaboration. Whether discussing complex operational challenges, sharing best practices, or simply connecting with others who understand the demands of our profession, these relationships are invaluable. Finally, Salem provides the perfect backdrop for this year's gathering. Rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, the city offers something for every interest. We have planned exciting social events, including historical tours of Salem, our President's Welcome Reception, networking opportunities throughout the conference including our Hospitality Suite, and a special 50th Anniversary President's Reception at the historic House of Seven Gables. In honor of AMGO's founding year, we'll celebrate with a fun 1976-inspired theme with disco music and dancing – disco attire is optional but encouraged! I hope you will join us as we celebrate 50 years of AMGO, reconnect with colleagues, make new connections, and invest in your professional growth. Together, we will honor our history, strengthen our professional community, and explore the opportunities that lie ahead. I look forward to welcoming you to Salem. Sincerely, Meg Ferris |
