ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of AMGO members is traditionally held in September at a site that enhances the continued growth of the group's cohesiveness. Whenever possible, we plan our meeting to coincide with CUCOG's annual meeting (Council of University Chairs of Obstetrics & Gynecology) to support the academic dyad leadership structure pairing administrative and clinical leaders.
The major theme of the annual meeting is to enhance the professional development & leadership training of our members. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing administrative and managerial competencies in business operations and increasing one's knowledge of the clinical operations and the various graduate medical education and research programs within the department. Current and trending topics are presented through lectures by nationally prominent speakers and the expertise of AMGO members. Focused workshops, panel discussions and open forum discussions provide the opportunity for the exchange of ideas between members and guests. Informal group discussions have included such topics as: professional fee reimbursement, practice management, faculty incentive & compensation plans, personnel management, finance management & budgeting, fundamentals of medical malpractice, implementation of technology systems, impact of legislation on delivery of care, educational programming for undergraduate and graduate medical education, physician and provider productivity and clinical FTE planning and performance standards for productivity enhancement. Members are encouraged to suggest ideas for educational workshops and lectures.Meeting Highlights
