Susie Guidi is currently the Director of OB/GYN & Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Diego. She has worked at the University since 1996, first for the School of Medicine department and as part of the Physician Group. Susie has a passion for the “Patient Experience,” and has been Co-Chair of the Women & Infants Advisory Council since 2012. With more than two decades in Academic Medicine, she has found that communication and collaboration are the keys to a successful career.

Gail recently retired as the Department Administrator for the Department of OB/GYN & Women's Health at the University of Minnesota. For 12 years, she provided strategic, operational and implementation oversight for the Department's clinical services, research and graduate medical education programs. Prior to the U of MN, she was the Clinic Director for La Clinica, which is a community care clinic, and is the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Minnesota. As an entrepreneurial-minded leader, Gail's background includes managing the start-ups of diverse businesses within healthcare, literacy & education and retail sales. To explore opportunities that aligned with her passions and interests, Gail sought out meaningful and challenging leadership roles in different industries. She directed the start-up of the first Planned Parenthood clinics in South Dakota and then transferred her business management skills to the book industry. She directed the opening of the the first Barnes & Noble Bookstore in South Dakota, which led to her being recruited to manage the 14th largest superstore in the U.S. in Edina, MN. Next, as General Manager with Scholastic Book Fairs Heartland Region, she directed the opening of a new 7-state region based in Minneapolis, MN. Gail earned her Master of Science in Health Education & Healthcare Administration from the University of Utah and a BS in Healthcare Administration from the University of South Dakota. |
